R&D Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Support the BU growth strategies by development of new or modified differentiated products, applications, or processes to meet market or customer objectives, lower overall cost, or improve application performance.
Collaborate in the development and/or importation of global technologies (formulations, performance, processing) to achieve commercialization and sales in domestic market.
Design and manage technical service and technology development projects, responsible for technical deliverables of product or application development projects, and write project summaries or reports.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations at meetings or conferences, participate in technical organizations and professional associations related to the targeted BU core technologies.
Provide technical service in the areas of customer and sales support, competitive analysis, qualification trials, and problem solve customer complaints.
Provide technical advice and training to internal (sales support, technicians, etc.) and external customers on product recommendations, processing, and application of new or existing products.
Assist in the creation and management of product formulation and quality specification control plans, advise preferred production methods, support scale up activities, act as a technical consultant to manufacturing sites for product or process related items.
Provide guidance to the business unit in respect to supplier selection and alternate sources of key raw materials. Assist in safe handling and use of raw materials in development and manufacturing.
Research and assess the impact of intellectual property associated with the development of products, processes and applications, and support the BU and legal counsel in matters of our freedom to operate, securing and protecting intellectual property, and assessment of competitive products.
Assist creation and management of product datasheets, technical bulletins, and other technical product literature and support market development in creation of application or market literature.
Assist in development of, and support and adhere to, the quality management system and design and development procedures.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed herewith are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Knowledge of the properties, characteristics and processing behavior of polymeric materials, additives, functional modifiers, and the formulation thereof.
2. Knowledge of polymer processing and testing methods.
3. Competent in project management, application of statistical experimental methodology, process improvement techniques, and fundamental business operational practices.
4. The successful candidate should have excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills, be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
5. Sound computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and information technology systems.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
1. Bachelors Degree or higher in the field of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or Engineering
2. At least 5 years of research or product development experience in area of polymers or polymer additives.
3. Minimum of 3 years experience in the area of masterbatch product development or multilayer flexible packaging.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
