POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provides confidential administrative and secretarial support primarily for the Director, RDCRI, but also for the Associate Director, RDCRI and Director of Nursing Research. Also provides support for the Administrative Directors and staff within the RDCRI, as directed. Position includes accurate and efficient processing of various documents ranging from general correspondence to technical and highly confidential reports. Must be able to independently plan, prioritize and implement tasks; Maintain record storage and filing; extend proper telephone courtesy; cooperate and coordinate with coworkers; manage and maintain multiple calendars including the scheduling of meetings, travel, etc. Oversee the ordering of office supplies; maintain inventory and proper functioning of equipment such as the copier/fax machine and conduct patient registration and other duties as assigned. Assists with projects as assigned and maintains appropriate records.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 2 to 3 years secretarial experience or equivalent course work; Typing speed of a minimum of 45 WPM, transcription skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred. Demonstrated organizational, writing, typing and time management/prioritization skills. Proficiency in the English language with excellent use of grammar and spelling and demonstrated effective communication skills are essential. Ability to work under stressful conditions in an appropriate and professional manner and able to prioritize responsibilities and meet aggressive deadlines. Knowledge of medical terminology and diseases. Must be, detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
