Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides school health services as directed by the School Health Services, Clinical Coordinator (Registered Nurse) to the student population serviced.
Responsibilities:
Actively interfaces with patients and families of Akron Children's HospitalCollects data that contributes to the assessment and evaluation of individualized care and needs of assigned patients, including discharge plans, under the direction of the licensed nurse.
Prepares patients for examination; takes and records vital signs; administers medications as directed by the Providers according to policy and procedure.
Accurate and timely documentation of care within the school medical recordCollects, process, and submits laboratory specimens in accordance with policy and procedure.
Performs clinical duties that are department specific such as PCOT, hearing and vision screenings, and any other procedures.
Communicated patient findings and pertinent information to the Provider and/or Licensed Nurse utilizing appropriate communication/documentation processes.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with patients/students, families, school personnel and colleagues.
Performs routine task and general office duties such as faxing, copying, filling, etc.
as needed.
Completes all assignments during scheduled working hours.

Technical ExpertiseKnowledge of and experience in medical terminology is required.
Experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
