Summary:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Oversee all fundraising for the Akron Rotary Club, Akron Rotary Foundation, and the Akron Rotary Camp.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
annual campaign, capital fundraising, operating grants, special events, and planned giving.
The Development Director will develop positive relationships with major donors and work with volunteers to cultivate new donor giving opportunities.

Essential Functions:
Develop and implement a comprehensive Development Funding Plan annually which maintains the fiscal health of the organization and provides future financial resources for growth and expansion.
Including but not limited to annual appeal development and management, corporate major giving, grant writing and management, planned giving, special events and third-party fundraising.
Work with Executive Director to identify capital and program projects and potential donors.
Work to develop and monitor goals and objectives for all campaigns as appropriate.
Manage and support all special event logistics to ensure meeting campaign goals.
Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure financial support and partnerships.
Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to engage them in fundraising activities, provide regular updates, and leverage their networks for fundraising opportunities.
Coordinate camp statistical information for grants and donors.
Schedule camp tours/visits with appropriate donors/potential donors coordinating with key camp staff and volunteers.
As well as deliver external presentations to various community and corporate groups.
Oversee branding, image and consistency of messaging in all fund-raising materials.
Including messaging is updated and accurate in all marketing and outreach materials.
Utilize online donor database program(s) to track actions and monitor all gifts to camp.
In coordination with development staff, plan annual donor communications calendar.
Attend Rotary Club of Akron meetings as needed.
Work with development and accounting staff to ensure gifts are recorded properly.
Utilize purchase order system established by Association Services Office (ASO) for all purchases.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with donors, guests, and staff.
Member of the YMCA LEAD and LEAD
teams.
Hire, train, and supervise development staff as appropriate.
Driving to and from offsite meetings as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must be 21 years old.
Must have a current and valid Driver's License.
Must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and donor/fundraising software programs.
Must display an overall willingness to do what needs to be done with a positive attitude to provide the best experience possible for our campers, guests, and donors.
Ability to learn and implement new software applications.
Must be friendly, have high level of interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures.
Excellent communication (both verbal and written).
Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to set and manage priorities.
Active listener with strong diplomacy skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
