Job Designation The Senior Accountant for Braking Systems is a key member of the Accounting and Finance team who participates in period-end close and provides input and analysis during forecasting intervals. Supports the team by handling ad-hoc reporting requests and driving efficiencies via process improvement and best business practices. A highly visible role, the Senior Accountant also strengthens cross-functional relationships by serving as a liaison between Finance and other business units such as Operations, Human Resources, and Purchasing. The ideal candidate possesses leadership qualities which will be developed through succession planning. Job Core Responsibilities Participates in the monthly close process, reviewing general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper valuation, generating various journal entries and accruals, and preparation of account reconciliations. Ensures compliance with GAAP, IFRS and SOX Supports budgets/forecasts in Excel and SAP and performs variance-to-forecast analysis for payroll, expenses, and headcount. Internal reporting of financial data to senior management; communicates and presents financial information to non-finance professionals. Manages ad-hoc reporting requests from all areas of the organization. Builds and maintains cross-functional partnerships. Drives efficiency through continuous improvement with a focus on streamlining process, automation, and optimizing workflows. Contributes to best practice process sharing. Supports internal and external audit objectives as necessary. Other duties as assigned. Job Specifications Education:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Master degree preferred Years'
Experience:
5 years of experience in Accounting. Experience working for a large, multi-site manufacturing firm preferred Skills:
Motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment Strong technical knowledge of accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial analysis acquired through related work experience Knowledge of SAP a plus Strong MS Excel skills using BI, Pivot tables, lookups, data mining and other advanced formulas Comfort with manipulating/querying large databases; experience with SQL a plus Excellent attention to detail and organization skills High interpersonal communication and presentation skills required (verbal and written) Ability to build consensus across multiple site functions
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
AccountingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
