Job Designation The Head of IT Applications Transformation - Manufacturing responsible for leading and developing the Manufacturing Applications team that sits within the Global Applications team. This team is responsible for delivering new Manufacturing Applications as well as enhancements to existing Manufacturing Applications across all sites in Meggitt in support of the regularly changing requirements of the company, function, and Divisions. This role will have end-to-end accountability for IT system provision to enable Meggitt's 40 global manufacturing sites through deployment and transformation of Meggitt's SAP template. The role will be the primary lead for SAP, its template, and optimizing its delivery for Meggitt. This will include the delivery lifecycle and the provision of a training service providing consistent training material to enhance the performance of the business process. NOTE:
THIS IS A 100% REMOTE ROLE - MUST RESIDE ON THE EAST COAST TIMELINE. Job Core Responsibilities In addition, it is responsible for the delivery of Manufacturing application projects (new & enhancements) across the Meggitt Group including:
o Creating and Maintaining a 1-3-5 Year Manufacturing Applications Roadmap that sets out the evolution of the Manufacturing Applications Portfolio o Forecasting demand for new applications & ensuring sufficient resources with the right skills are available to deliver the application portfolio o Inputting to the annual plan & budget to meet the forecasted demand o Managing the utilization of the team and their suppliers/partners to ensure the right resources are available when needed o Ensuring the right project governance processes are followed to deliver projects on time & to budget o Creating clearly articulated Project Requests (CERs & Project Briefs) including business cases o Selecting new applications, in conjunction with the Head of Global Applications, Architecture, and IT Procurement teams, to meet these requirements o Enhancing existing applications to keep up with changing business requirements whilst ensuring consistency and continuity across all global processes o Managing the delivery of new applications and enhancements to existing applications in a timely and quality way. o This role is responsible for the delivery of Manufacturing Applications Programmes & Projects (both new & enhancements) and, as a member of the Applications Team, contribute to the formulation of IT policy and strategy and works with the Application area. Job Specifications o Creating and developing a 'fit for purpose' Manufacturing Applications team to support the Meggitt business needs; o Reviewing IT costs against external service providers, new developments, and new services, initiating proposals to change the way the Applications function delivers these services to achieve the best value for the business, in consultation with financial management for IT services; o Working collaboratively with other Application & MIS teams to ensure the successful delivery of Manufacturing Applications projects & programs, ensuring that all IT teams are appropriately involved (e.g. PMO, Infrastructure, Procurement, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, Service Delivery) in a timely way and reflected in the overall delivery plan; o Ensuring the team follows agreed best practice in the delivery of Applications Programmes & Projects; o Identifying new external suppliers/partners to enhance the capacity & capability of the Manufacturing Applications team and managing the relationship with these suppliers to ensure they deliver the needed support; o Developing a good understanding of each of the Meggitt Manufacturing, Divisions, and relevant Product Groups and Sites to better assess their applications requirements; o Recommending proactive, innovative solutions for the improvement of the Manufacturing Application Portfolio and working with the Architecture function and the Technology Approval Board to approve these new solutions; o Proposing enhancements to existing Manufacturing Applications to meet the business changing needs; o Leading the creation of an annual strategy and plan to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the function including considering which work is best suited to be insourced vs outsourced, offshored vs near/onshored as well as location and skills of permanent teams; o Preparing & submitting an annual budget for the function that reflects the agreed annual strategy and plan and ensures it is adequately resourced (internal & external); o Input to the Applications budget to enable tracking and controlling actual spending and preparing & submitting quarterly revised forecasts to ensure meets the budget and plan; o Continuously developing the team members to ensure staff are appropriately skilled to do their jobs and are encouraged to progress their careers by taking on new or more senior roles within Meggitt/MIS; o Anticipating demand for Small Change Requests (SCRs) and Improvement Projects (e.g. Regular upgrades to SAP) and ensuring sufficient resources are on hand (internal or external) to meet demand; o Staying up to date on Applications best practice through networking with peers in other companies/industries, reading industry publications and investing in training where needed; o Producing Monthly Reports to report on performance & achievements of the Manufacturing team; o Lead other projects as determined by your Manager; o Any other tasks considered commensurate with your role by your Manager. Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & Engineering, Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
